Christ the King Episcopal Church
A Creative, Inclusive, Spiritual Community in Valdosta, Georgia
The latest column by Dr. Catherine Meeks:
"We cannot afford to be silent, because we are resisting the evil wind that is blowing across this land and the planet at this time in ways we are barely able to imagine.
One of those ways of resisting, which I helped start, is the Mercy, Courage, Action Campaign. This campaign began with about 60 of us meeting in a Zoom room to talk about doing something in response to Bishop Budde’s plea beyond simply lamenting."

Our Civil Rights mural, which was created in the summer of 2023, also depicts the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama.
60 years ago, on March 7, 1965, the events of “Bloody Sunday” gripped the attention of our nation, when hundreds of civil rights activists, who were marching across this bridge, were attacked by local and state police. Dozens of protesters were hospitalized, and one of them was John Lewis, who is also depicted on our mural.
For more information on the events of “Bloody Sunday” read the entry by the Equal Justice Initiative below.
